#smokefreeconcerts: the gig’s inside, the cigs stay outside
At this concert #smokefreeconcerts wristbands will be handed out. In collaboration with Kom op tegen Kanker we encourage everyone, non-smokers as well as smokers, to go for a smoke-free concert together. A concert hall is a closed public space where for years there has been a legal smoking ban. Fancy a cigarette? Keep it fun for everyone and smoke outside. If you were to share a photo of your wristband online, be sure to tag it with the hashtag #smokefreeconcerts. More info at www.smokefreeconcerts.be.

Florence + the Machine’s hugely-anticipated new album, ‘High As Hope’ (release: 29 June) has the feel of a career-defining moment for Florence, venturing into new territory as much as it reaches back to one’s roots. There was a first teaser “Sky Full Of Song” in April, but the record was officially launched with the striking video for first single “Hunger”. Florence + the Machine’s latest offering, “Big God”, is a raw and enchanting affair, and promises to be her next hit single on radio and streaming services. The new album will feature collaborations from the likes of Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr, Kelsey Lu and Jamie xx.
The UK redhead has dazzled fans and critics alike across her nearly 10 year career which produced a slew of worldwide hits including “Dog Days Are Over”, “Rabbit Heart”, “You’ve Got The Love”, “Shake It Out”, “Spectrum”, “Ship To Wreck”, “What Kind Of Man” among many others. Florence’s infectious enthusiasm and her presence on stage is nothing short of captivating and if her flowing red hair and bare feet didn’t give her the persona of a goddess, her angelic voice does. It makes her unique, an outstanding artist.
Belgium adores Florence Welch as well. More than once she has been one of the highlights at Rock Werchter. She previously performed in Vooruit (2010), AB (2012), Lotto Arena (2012) and Sportpaleis (2015).
Florence + the Machine’s ‘High As Hope Tour’ will bring her to the Sportpaleis on Thursday, 7 March. Don’t miss out when Florence + the Machine returns to Belgium to play fan favourites and debut songs from ‘High As Hope’ for the very first time.
