Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike 2017 Bringing the Madness: Reflections

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to be joined by the giant from Game of Thrones Kristian Nairn and British producer Jonas Blue

Now that summer is over, things have calmed down in Ibiza and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are getting ready for the DJ Mag top 100 awards ceremony and their USA/South America tour, so it’s time to start counting down to their only series of concerts in their native Belgium. Just 10 more weeks (17.10.17) until the duo will be back at the Sportpaleis. For the fifth year running, no less. On 15, 16, 22 and 23 December, the red-hot DJs will be unleashing their killer beats and CO2 canisters once again. It promises to be a spectacular special-effects packed production. And that’s not all, they’ll be joined by some choice opening acts: Kristian Nairn of Game of Thrones and Jonas Blue, as well as MTTN, Angemi and Wolfpack, will all be taking a turn in the DJ booth.

It will be the fifth time that the top DJs perform at the Sportpaleis. For four evenings, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike will be raising the roof on the Antwerp Sportpaleis with their concert series ‘Bringing The Madness: Reflections’. But they won’t be showing up alone.

On 15 and 16 December, Kirstian Nairn – better known as the giant Hodor from Game of Thrones – will offer proof that his skills go beyond acting. He’s also a DJ. A week later, on 22 and 23 December, Jonas Blue will warm up the audience for the madness. The British DJ/producer is a real hit machine: his monster hit ‘Mama’ has been at the top of the charts for 18 weeks and counting, not to mention his release ‘Fast Car’.

Last year, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike surprised audiences with a retro DJ set on vinyl delivered from a floating DJ booth suspended metres in the air. The entire venue was transformed with an incredible LED wall measuring 1,200 square metres and no fewer than 910 canisters of CO2 were set off. Talk about mind-boggling figures. In order to top that, the star DJs have vowed to pull on all the stops once again. What and how? To find out, you’ll just have to catch the show live.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike had a very busy summer with shows in the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Europe, Asia and of course also plenty of summer festivals. At Tomorrowland, they played a full three sets on the two weekends, but they were also showing up at festivals such as Airbeat One (Germany), Barcelona Beach Festival (Spain), Sunrise Festival (Poland) and Sziget Festival (Hungary). In September, the brothers will head to China and South Korea, and from there they’ll fly on to Mexico, Peru, Chile and Argentina. And if you happened to be in Ibiza last summer, you could find Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike every Tuesday at club Ushuaïa, during the ‘Garden of Madness’ residency in collaboration with Tomorrowland, where the line-up included guests such as Lost Frequencies, Marshmello, Nervo, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki and W&W.

Between the DJ sets, there’s also time for new music. There are some international collaborations in the works: Coldplay and The Chainsmokers asked them to remix their song ‘Something Just Like This’ and the next single, to be released soon, is a collab with David Guetta. In the past, the brothers have also worked with superstars such as Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg and Sean Paul. In May, they released their remix of the well-known ‘He’s a Pirate’ by film music composer Hans Zimmer. The track is included as a bonus track for the new movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’.

With their hits, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have racked up over 60 million streams op Spotify. Shows in the United States – from New York to Las Vegas and Miami – have sold-out in no time. And they’re not only winning big on the charts, but on social media as well. Their 9.75 million Facebook fans, 3 million Instagram followers, more than 2.6 million followers on Twitter and a total of over 400 million YouTube views confirms the popularity of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike all around the world. In April, they scored again in the American music magazine Billboard. The track ‘Hey Baby’ skyrocketed to the absolute top in the category ‘Dance Club Songs’, just like their previous hit ‘Higher Place’. In fifteen months’ time, the DJ brothers have had two number-one hits in the world’s most prestigious music chart. More recognition is to be noted by The International Dance Music Awards who selected them as “Best European DJs” in 2014, 2015 and 2016. They also were number one in the renowned DJ Mag Top 100 in 2015
